EWoF / Inspection

How can we help?

Electrical Warrant of Fitness

EWoF (Electrical Warrant of Fitness) applies to the following: Caravans, Campervans, Tiny Homes, Portacoms/Containers, Food Trucks, Boats etc. All of these require a current EWoF to operate, and it must be renewed every 4 years.

Campervans and caravans without an up to date EWoF are likely to be denied entry into a motorhome park and may also affect your insurance claims.

Exclusive Electrical is fully equipped to carry out EWoF inspections and can complete any necessary repairs to ensure your Caravan, Campervan or Tiny Home, Portacom, Container, Food Truck or Boat is EWoF compliant.

What is an EWoF?

An EWoF is a certification that confirms your caravan or campervans’ electrical systems are safe and comply with the New Zealand Electrical Code of Practice for Electrical Safety. It is required by Worksafe and most holiday parks.

An EWoF is required if your caravan/campervan is to be hooked up to a 240 volt power supply system.

Who can issue an EWoF: A current registered Electrical Inspector.
How is an EWoF displayed: A sticker is placed in the corner of your windscreen.
How long is an EWoF valid for: An EWOF is valid for four years from the month issued.

What is Tested During an EWoF?

We have a process of checks and tests that need to be completed to ensure that the vehicle is electrically safe. These include earthing, polarity, insulation resistance, testing each socket outlet, and checking circuit protection to name a few.
